On the Lookout for a Couch and Ready for Some Change

Hello everyone! I had a great weekend! We went to the movies and saw The Hunger Games on Friday. I loved it! I would recommend it to anyone. I will say though, I think you should read the books before seeing the movie because it just gives you a better understanding of what is happening. I also did all of my Spring Cleaning this weekend! I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! Our house looks pretty good though! Well at least the cleanliness of it, not the decorating so much... which leads me to my next topic.

I mentioned recently that we returned my parent's living room suite that they so generously loaned to us for a while. So what once looked like this....

Now looks like this...

Although I liked the dark leather, I want to go lighter and brighter! I rant about this all the time, this dang townhome has no windows! We live in a dungeon or at least that is the way I feel. One day we will have a ton of windows with natural light pouring in! For now, I think it will help if I lighten the colors in the room. We are now on the lookout for a new couch. I'm not exactly sure when we will get this, but I am looking.

I am also ready for some more change in this room. I am going to change the color scheme. I had went with warm colors but now I am wanting to go with something a little cooler. I am going from red, orange, and gold to something like this...

via Pinterest

I really like the yellow and aqua together. Then add some gray in, and I think we have got our new color scheme! I know that yellow isn't a cool color but I think with the gray and blue it will add just enough warmth without adding too much. I really love the colors in our bedroom. it always feels so bright when I walk into the room. This was part of the inspiration for the change.

This is definitely a work in progress. So by no means will it be done anytime soon. Of course, I would love to have it done tomorrow but realistically things like this take a little time and money. One of those I am very rich with, the other...not so much! Ha! I just wanted to share with you one of the projects that I am currently working on.

So I currently have a million projects going on. I am the type of person that has so many things that I want to do that I find myself trying to work on too many things at once. I have been trying to conquer one project at a time but still find myself walking away from one thing to work on another. So this is the reason that I haven't been sharing any projects lately. I have been working on stuff like crazy but just have little finishing touches that need to be made before I share them. So I promise that I will have some new things to share with you very soon!

The Hunger Games

Happy Friday! If you didn't know, today is the opening day for the movie, The Hunger Games! A few months back a couple of our friends recommended The Hunger Game Trilogy to us. Ben read them first. Then I read the first book, and I am in the middle of the second right now. They are very good and I would recommend them if you are looking for something to read! Ben and I are both super excited to see the movie. We are going with a group of friends from his dental school class. First, we are going to eat at Mellow Mushroom, then we will head on over to the movies! I am not only excited because of the movie, but also because this is the first time Ben and I have been to the movies since we got married {that is what no job will do for you}! This is a great way to end the week after having four tests {For Ben that is. I have just been sittin' pretty at home of course}!

Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back next week!

Pictures from Whimsical Daisy Boutique

On my post from last week (Life this Past Week), about the baby shower gifts that we gave Abby {Mattie's Best Friend}, I didn't have any pictures to show of Ana's gift from the Whimsical Daisy Boutique. Good news! I got them from her! I thought I would drop in and share them! Way too cute, not to share!

{Newborn pillow case dress} So cute!

These pillow case dresses come in a variety of different fabrics and several different styles {the other has a ruffled border at the bottom}. It also comes in a variety of sizes including newborn, toddler (2T-5T) , and girl (6, 7/8, 9/10) sizes. They are so precious! One thing I love about them is that they can be worn as a shirt when they get too small to wear as a dress! 2-in-1, I love multiple uses! Check out other fabrics and styles on their Facebook page here.

Matching yo-yo headbands!

These yo-yo headbands are actually another 2-in-1! The yo-yo part is a hair clip that clips to the headband. This way when the headband gets to small, the hair clip can be removed and used alone!

Of course, you need matching burp cloths too!
If you haven't checked out the Whimsical Daisy Boutique Etsy shop or Facebook page, head on over and visit them here and here! It is worth it!

Jaxon is 3!

This weekend, Ben and I headed back to Gainesville to celebrate Jaxon's 3rd Birthday. First, we took my parent's couches back to Gainesville. So now we have a very empty living room :( Then we headed over to Ben's parent's house to visit. He had not been home in 2 months. So we went out to Mellow Mushroom for his birthday dinner.

Jaxon's birthday was on Saturday, St. Patrick's Day. So we headed over to the park for the Scooby Doo birthday party. It was very cute! It started out very rainy and overcast, but it turned out to be a beautiful day. Why have we not learned by now to not have anything outside?! The weather never cooperates in our favor!

The Birthday Boy!
This picture pretty much sums up the party! Wild children, constantly running where they weren't supposed to be running and having to be chased down! Haha! Love it though!

Scooby Snacks for party favors! Too cute!
Ana painted this mystery machine for all of the kids to get their picture made in! It turned out so good! She did a great job, and all of the pictures turned out so cute!

A beautiful picture of my mama and sweet Annie {Ana's friend's baby}.
Doesn't she look so natural holding a baby girl?! I told her it is about time to have Jaxon a baby sibling {hopefully a sister!}
Ana holding her baby!

Love my family!
My sweet boy!

Jaxon and his Unca Ben

Worn out!
After the party, we went over to Ana and David's house. Jaxon got to play with his new Tball set that Ben and I got him.

I took over 300 pictures at the birthday party and so many of them were really good! Can you tell I had a hard time narrowing down what to use on here!

Life this Past Week

I went back to Gainesville this past weekend for Abby's {my little sister's best friend} baby shower. She is pregnant with TWIN GIRLS! So exciting! She is due at the beginning of May and still has the tiniest belly.

{Mattie and Abby} It just doesn't look like she has two babies in that belly!

Jaxon insisted that he attend the baby shower as well.

Of course, all of our gifts {my mom's, Ana's, Mattie's, and mine} were from the Whimsical Daisy Boutique {Mom and Ana's Children's Clothing and Accessory Boutique}. If you haven't seen their stuff, check it out. Head on over to their Etsy shop here and their facebook page here.  Here are a few pictures of our gifts!

Mom and Mattie gave her this precious onesie {well 2 onesies}. The flower is handmade and looks so cute! Then she made matching headbands and  black tutus (no picture, sorry). They also gave her pink ballerina slippers! So precious!

I gave her black onesies with a handmade rosette on the front, a matching headband, and leg warmers! It all turned out so cute!

I don't have any pictures of what Ana made. She made them two pillowcase dresses, Yo-yo headbands, and matching burp cloths. They were so cute!

Here is the card I made. I thought it turned out so cute!

Get it?! Twin birdies with the Mama bird!
On Saturday night, I went out with my friend Kayla. She got engaged about 2 weeks ago! I am so happy for her and Nick. It had been a little while since we had gotten together but of course, I needed to see her ring too!

Isn't it beautiful! She is one lucky girl!
What did we do that evening?! Pretty much talked about wedding stuff the whole time! Ha! I am obsessed with weddings, and I think even more so now that my wedding was such a disaster and is over. I just have to live vicariously through other weddings. I always joke and say I need a redo...but seriously, I do! Kayla asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding! I am so excited and honored to be a part of their special day! We went to our favorite place to eat, Moes. It was so great seeing her. The worst part of moving to Augusta is being away from my family and friends :(  We didn't take any pictures while we were together but here is a picture of us at our Pinning Ceremony.

My dad also got back from Kentucky this weekend. It was so good seeing him! I hadn't seen him since Christmas. Way too long!

This week, Ben was in the GHSU Dental School Talent Show. He and a group of classmates got together and sang a song that his classmate, Brian Sellers, wrote. It was called, "C Makes DMD." I videoed it. It was so good! The song lyrics are so clever. Of course, I can't get the dang video to upload! I will continue to work on it and maybe I will get it uploaded eventually.

We are heading back this weekend for Jaxon's birthday party. He will be 3! Where has the time gone?! It seems like just yesterday he looked like this!

Sweet, little angel!
We will also be returning my parent's couches to them. So our living room that looks like this will soon be different...without couches!

I will be back next week to post about Jaxon's party and to hopefully post some pictures of some projects that I have been working on. Have a great weekend!

The Greatest Show on Earth

Last weekend I got invited to go to the circus! I went with my Aunt Kim {my mom's sister} and my two little cousins, McKenzie and Rylee. This was the first time I had been to the circus since I was little {a baby}. So this was my first trip that I could remember. We had a blast! I got to take a lot of pictures and really enjoyed the show!

Rylee and Mac

Clown hair

I couldn't get this one to look at me! haha
I love the tigers!

There is no way I would get in that cage!

Head stands!!! Crazy that they can train them to do this!

I loved the elephants too!

So during the show a woman in front of me turned around to tell me something. After she finishes talking, Rylee leans down to her and says "Hi, my name is Dora." Yes, as in Dora the Explorer! So that the woman doesn't think we are crazy for having a kid named Dora I say, "Actually her name is Rylee" and Rylee corrects me, "actually it's Dora!" Hahaha!!! Too funny! I just love little ones!

I am so glad I had the opportunity to go with them! Thanks Aunt Kim!
